ARTFUL JOURNEYS - Week #30 - Paint with your 3 fave colors AND then stamp thru a stencil over the top of it!
As you can see I didn't follow this weeks prompt like a good girl. Nope I went off the grid a bit. I did some sample of using a stamp on a stencil but dummy me was using block stamps and not foam (slapping hand against forehead, DOH!!!)
But I do love how my page came out. I only really used one color of paint the blue and very little of it at that. I use black paint to make the beginning of my circles and some red paint on an end of a toilet paper roll and then I broke out my gellatos. I did use an alpha stencil on the inside of the circles and the red ink diamonds. I also used a wood block alpha stamp on background as well. The crazy girl is a part of a collage sheet from Tumble Fish Studio. I also make my own wordart bits.
Here is are a couple other pages I made in an art journal book I am working on.
I used my Golden high flows acrylics in this one and my neocrayons.
I had a few butterfly die cuts my dear friend, Lynn set me. I also used my Golden high flows acrylics and neocrayons, I love this combo of media.
I used a couple art postcards and lots of wrapping paper in this one.
I used my new stencils and alpha stamps. I even drew my own flowers.
One of my dear artsy friends, Skye asked ME to help her out with 10 other artsy gals to make a page for a calendar she is going to have printed up and we will sell them. How flipping cool is that. So here is mine for the month of August.
The vintage gal is from one of Holliewood Studios kits. The alphas I printed up they are a freebie at MischiefStudios. I really love how she came out.
Here are some ATC's I also made.
Well that is it for this week, thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon.
I wasn't even going to do this weeks prompt due to some personal issues that were pretty upsetting and didn't think I would find the strength do even manage it but I did.
I want for nothing except for one thing and I know in my heart it can not be.
Normally I would be all over this prompt but unfortunately one of my hubbys, Larry brother passed on and then two days later his brother in law pass too. So this was not a good week in our home.
I did manage to doodle my prompt!
Don't know how it happen but my creme feel off the page, lol!!
I only used my Derwent colored pencils (intense) and my trusty fave's Bic's Inkjoy colored pens. Those babies write on anything and I love using them in my art journaling.
I also made two altered CD's this week.
I don't normally decorate my envies but I happen to make this one all spice, LOL
Oh and I made a ribbon doll too just for fun and am sending it to a dear friend,
so I packaged it up in a naked mail. My mailman got a big giggle seeing it.
I made a American themed PLP :) Going up for sale at Artful Express
I will have some ATC's as well.
Well that about wraps it up for me this week. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon!
Hello everyone, Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!! I had a very relaxing weekend doing nothing but art. So this week the prompt was Ocean waves. I am a true blooded Michigander and not much into the Ocean or waves, give me a good old lake any day. There's no sharks or jellyfishes lol to worry about. But anyhoo it took me a moment to wrap my head around this prompt.
I started off by using scraps from background pages I had done all week. I cut them in strips and glued them down on my blank page. Then I fussy cutted out a mermaid I found online.
I glued her down but left her hands along for now.
My dear friend Yvonne stop buy Friday and brought me some goodies. She just happen to have some cheese cloth in the package and I was think, it would make a great net for my page. I also had some tiny seashells to hot glue down.
When I am in my art room I ALWAYS have music on, and just happens Led Zeppelins song "Down by the seaside came on"
so I started writing the lyrics in the mermaids body and tail and then titled it over the fishing net.
Yvonne also gave me some beautiful blue glass shavings and I used them as my ocean water, in the photo glue is not all the way dry but I was loving ow it was coming along.
I really love how she came out.
Some prompt stress me out a bit but once I got my head wrapped around it, I learn not to stress and worry and to just let it flow.
I made a few PLP Background and PLP and sold them at Artful Express this week. I am very blessed to have some members buy them, helps support my art.
My reto gals PLP
Below are some PLP just backgrounds.
Here are a few ATC's a.k.a ACEO's. I was on a rockabilly reto kick all week. I found some cool art of Crystal Wall Lancaster to use.
